1. Different insulation materials
The insulating material used in N2XY cable is cross-linked polyethylene, while NYY cable is made of polyvinyl chloride. The difference in maximum operating temperature determines that N2XY has a higher current carrying capacity, and also determines that N2XY cable is better than NYY cable in terms of overall performance.
3. Different working voltage range
Normally, the working voltage range of N2XY cable is 6～500KV, while NYY cable is 1～6KV. Therefore, NYY cables are generally used in low-voltage environments, while N2XY covers high, medium and low-voltage environments. This is why the N2XY cable manufacturing process requires higher levels.
4. Price and longevity
With the same specifications and models, the price of N2XY cable is slightly more expensive than that of NYY, which may be the reason why NYY cable is still alive.
